Vote <br />carried. <br /> <br /> Mr. W. E. Moose, 17b~ Vance Street, Concord, N. C., complained to the Board <br />that his taxes were too high. He was instructed to take this matter up with <br />Tax Supervisor Ralph K. Lttaker. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Lela Zebrowskt, Route 1, Midland, N. C., complained to the Board about <br />a road between her property and Hwy. 27 being closed by owners of the property <br />through which the road crossed. Commissioners Informed her that this was a <br />l~lvate matter and she would have to settle through the court. <br /> <br /> Sheriff J. B. Roberts and Kannapolts Chief R. L. Ketchte requested approval <br />of the Board to establish an auxiliary police force for those departments. It <br />was pointed out that the County owned a sufficient number of uniforms and side <br />arms to equip approximately twelve men for each departmen.t. The County would be <br />required to provide Workman's Compensation Insurance, badges~ and night sticks. <br />Petrea made motion, seconded by Rankin, to approve this request. Vote carried. <br />Sheriff Roberts and Chief Ketchte were given permission to begin recruitment <br />immediately and instructed the County Manager and the Sheriff to present a plan <br />of organization containing rules and regulations of the auxtlary forces at the <br />next regular meeting of the Board. Commissioners also approved the purchase of <br />mace for the Sheriff's Department. <br /> <br /> County Manager Alfred L. Hurt presented a request by Mrs. Tooney Shertll <br />on behalf of the Arthritis Association that they be allowed to use the space <br />formerly occupied by the Cabarrus County Board of Education for several weeks. <br />Permission was granted. <br /> <br /> The matter ofbondlng Food Stamp personnel and operation of the Register of <br />Deeds office was discussed. Commissioners instructed County Manager Hurt to <br />bond Food Stamp employees for the required amount and to prepare a report of the <br />income and expenses of the Register of Deeds thus far~tn the current fiscal year <br /> <br /> <br />
