591 '

L. C. Ktlpatrtck, a member of the Elections Board, discussed with the Commissioner
changes required in voter registration by 1970. It was pointed out that the
loose-leaf registration system had to be done either before a primary or a
general election; since no election is scheduled for 1969 this would have to
be done in 1968. After consideration of bids for the purchase of equipment and
supplies necessary for setting up this registration, the bid submitted by Pound
and Moore Company was approved in its entirety except for the last two items
listed. By motion made by Hawfield, seconded by Beasley, vote carried. The

Board instructed County Manager Hurt t© obtain competitive prices on fireproof
file cabinets and carrying bags for the books, and to purchase the articles at
State contract prices if possible.
