in Cabarrus County. The following names were submitted to be contacted to serve <br />on this committee: Mr. R. Lynn Trout, Miss Eugenta Lore, Mr. E. Ray King, <br /> <br />Dr. R. B. McAlltster, and Mr. J. K. Rouse. <br /> <br /> Upon motion by Hawfteld, seconded by Beasley, vote was unanimous to <br /> <br />reappoint C. McNeil Petrea to the Cabarrus Welfare Board for another three year <br /> <br />term. <br /> <br /> Members of the Concord Chamber of Commerce Airport Committee came before <br /> <br />the Commissioners requesting that $5,000.00 be appropriated for a professional <br />airport survey to be made. Motion was made by Hawfield, seconded by Ranktn, to <br />approve an airport survey for Cabarrus County - this survey to be financed with <br />an appropriation of $5,000.00 to be included in the 196~-6P budget. Voted for <br />Hawfield, Ranktn, and Beasley; Abstained - Petrea. <br /> <br /> Architect George Griffin revealed a tenative time table for demolition and <br /> <br />construction of the new County governmental complex. ~H~ estimated that <br /> <br />February 1, 1969, would be a satisfactory target date to begin demolition of <br />existing buildings where the new jail is to be built and that construction could iR <br />probably begin July 1, 1969. Upon motion by Beasley, seconded by Ranktn, vote : <br />was unanimous that all tenants in these buildings be notified to vacate the ~ ~ <br />premises by February 1, 1969, and that Kale-Lawtng Company be notified that their <br />premises would be .rent free beginning May 1, 196~, until such time that they <br />vacate the but ld tng. <br /> <br /> A discussion of the necessary repairs to keep the present courthouse in .use- <br />able condition for the next five years resulted in Architect Griffin being <br />instructed to obtain prices for outside painting and repairing. He was also <br />instructed to investigate the cost of air-conditioning tfhe small courtroom and to <br />call for bids for demolishing the buildings. <br /> <br /> County Attorney James C. Davis,presented rules and regulations governing the <br /> <br />storage, collection, transporting and disposal of refuse in Cabarrus Count~ and <br />recomme.nded that the ordinance be adopted by the Board. Ranktfl made motion, <br />seconded by Hawfteld, to adopt the ordinance as presented. Vote carried. This <br /> <br />ordinance is recorded on page 606 and hermes a part of these minutes. <br /> <br /> Rankin made motion, seconded by Hawfield, to accept audit contract offered <br />by Daniel and Daniel CPA's for fiscal year 1967-68. Vote carried. <br /> <br /> Hawfteld made motion, seconded by Beasley, toaccept the following road <br /> <br />petitions: Vote carried. <br /> <br /> <br />
