The Board of Commissioners of the County of Cabarrus, North Carolina, met in regular session at the Courthouse in Concord, North Carolina, the usual place of meeting at 9:30 otclock a.m. on September 3, i968. Present: Chairman C. Frank James, and Commissioners F. O. Be~sley, .O.r._~ C.._McNei. l_Petrea, S. Glenn Hawfield, dr ~nd Dr. R. B. Rankin, Jr. Absent: None At 9:30 o'clock a.m., the members of the Board of Commissi( lers for the County of Cabarrus received from the Registrars and Judges of Election the returns of the special tax election held on JU.I'y 30, i968, in the Jackson Park Fire Protection District. After said returns had been canvassed, Commissioner James introduced the following resolution which was read: RESOLUTION CALLING FOR A SPECIAL ELECTION IN THE JACKSON PARK FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT ON JULY 30~ i968. BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the County of Cal~arrus: Section I. The returns of the special tax election held on July 30, i968, in the Jackson Park Fire Protection District in Cabarrus County having been received from the proper election officers and the Board having canvassed the same, the following facts are hereby found and determined: (a) That at a special tax election held in the JaCkson Park Fire Protection District on July 30, i968, there were submitted to the qualified registered voters of said Jackson Park Fire Protection District the following proposition: An election in the Jackson Park Fire Protection District for the purpose of submitting to the qualified voters therein the question of levying and collecting a apecial tax on all taxable property in said district, of not exceeding 15¢ of the $i00.00 valuation of property, for jo..~o..~^v,s..o.~o~ the purpose of providing fire protection in said district.
