RESOLUTION <br /> <br /> The Board of County Commissioners of Cabarrus County, <br /> <br /> at their regular February meeting, noted the need of addi- <br /> tional revenue for the County of Cabarrus; <br /> <br /> AND WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners feel that the <br /> needed additional revenue can be acquired through the levy of <br /> an additional one percent (1%) sales tax; <br /> <br /> AND WHEREAS, the Commissioners feel that this tax would <br /> be more fair to the population of Cabarrus County for the <br /> purpose of raising revenue for needed services; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of <br /> Commissioners for Cabarrus County, upon motion of R. B. Rankin, <br /> Jr., and seconded by F. J. Beasley, Jr., and unanimously <br /> passed by the Board, hereby request that the legislative dele- <br /> gation from Cabarrus County introduce in the General Assembly <br /> or North Carolina such appropriate legislation as would allow <br /> the people of Cabarrus County to vote on a referendum as to <br /> whether or not they desire to impose an additional one percent <br /> <br /> (1%) sales tax for the purpose of raising revenue for Cabarrus <br /> County. <br /> <br /> This the 3rd day of February, 1969. <br /> <br /> C.
