PETITION FOR THE EXTENSION OF THE BOUNDARIES OF THE KANNAPOLIS SANITARY DISTRICT <br /> <br /> We, the undersigned freeholders within the boundaries of the <br /> territory described below, respectfully petition that all necessary <br /> action required by Article 12 of Chapter 130 of the General Statutes <br /> of North Carolina for the extension of the boundaries of the Kannapolis <br /> Sanitary District in Cabarrus and Rowan Counties be taken so as to <br /> annex said land and include the same within the boundaries of said <br /> Kannapolis Sanitary District under the authority of said Article 12 <br /> of Chapter 130 of the General Statutes of North Carolina. <br /> <br /> The purpose of this, petition is the annexation of the land or <br /> territory described below to said Kannapolis Sanitary District so that <br /> said district will include said territory within its boundaries, and <br /> so that water and sewerage facilities and other utilities and services <br /> which said district is authorized to provide may be provided in said <br /> territory for the preservation and promotion of the public health and <br /> sanitary welfare therein. <br /> <br /> It is understood and agreed that the petitioners will make <br /> installation of the necessary water lines and sewer lines in the <br /> territory hereinafter described in accordance with the rules and pro- <br />~visions of the District for construction of water and sewer lines in <br /> new developments. <br /> <br /> The boundaries of the territory petitioned to be annexed to <br /> and include~ in the Kannapolis Sanitary District are as follows: <br /> <br /> Lying on the south side of West 18th Street, and adjoining <br /> the bouqdaries of the Kannapolis Sanitary District, and <br /> being more fully described as follows: <br /> <br /> BEGINNING at the point in the Kannapolis Sanitary District <br /> boundary line where the southern edge of West 18th Street <br /> intersects the boundary line of the Kannapolis Sanitary <br /> District, and runs thence along the southern edge of West <br /> 18th Street, S. 88-48 W. 100 feet to a point; thence con- <br /> tinuing along the southern edge of said street, N. 88-47 <br /> W. 200 feet to a point; thence continuing along the southern <br /> edge of said street, N. 88-36 W. 100 feet to a point, corner <br /> of Grady Crook property; thence S. 1-20 W. 300 feet, more <br /> or less, to a point in the center of a branch, said point <br /> being also on the boundary line of the Kannapolis Sanitary <br /> District; thence along the boundary line of the Kannapolis <br /> Sanitary District and along said center line of the branch <br /> as it meanders in a northeasterly direction 435 feet', more <br /> 'or less, to a stake in the center of said branch, 250 feet <br /> west of Plaza Avenue, a corner of the Kannapolis Sanitary <br /> District; thence continuing along the boundary line of the <br /> Kannapolis Sanitary District in a northerly direction, parallel <br /> with and 250 feet west of the center of Plaza Avenue, for a <br /> distance of 140 feet, more or less, to the southern edge of <br /> West 18th Street, the point of Beginning. <br /> <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br /> Grady F.
