PETITION FOR THE EXTENSION OF THE BOUNDARIES OF THE KANNAPOLIS SANITARY DISTRICT We, the undersigned freeholders within the boundaries of the territory described below, respectfully petition that all necessary action required by Article 12 of Chapter 130 of the General Statutes of North Carolina for the extension of the boundaries of the Kannapolis Sanitary District in Cabarrus and Rowan Counties be taken so as to annex said land and include the same within the boundaries of said Kannapolis Sanitary District under the authority of said Article 12 of Chapter 130 of the General Statutes of North Carolina. The purpose of this, petition is the annexation of the land or territory described below to said Kannapolis Sanitary District so that said district will include said territory within its boundaries, and so that water and sewerage facilities and other utilities and services which said district is authorized to provide may be provided in said territory for the preservation and promotion of the public health and sanitary welfare therein. It is understood and agreed that the petitioners will make installation of the necessary water lines and sewer lines in the territory hereinafter described in accordance with the rules and pro- ~visions of the District for construction of water and sewer lines in new developments. The boundaries of the territory petitioned to be annexed to and include~ in the Kannapolis Sanitary District are as follows: Lying on the south side of West 18th Street, and adjoining the bouqdaries of the Kannapolis Sanitary District, and being more fully described as follows: BEGINNING at the point in the Kannapolis Sanitary District boundary line where the southern edge of West 18th Street intersects the boundary line of the Kannapolis Sanitary District, and runs thence along the southern edge of West 18th Street, S. 88-48 W. 100 feet to a point; thence con- tinuing along the southern edge of said street, N. 88-47 W. 200 feet to a point; thence continuing along the southern edge of said street, N. 88-36 W. 100 feet to a point, corner of Grady Crook property; thence S. 1-20 W. 300 feet, more or less, to a point in the center of a branch, said point being also on the boundary line of the Kannapolis Sanitary District; thence along the boundary line of the Kannapolis Sanitary District and along said center line of the branch as it meanders in a northeasterly direction 435 feet', more 'or less, to a stake in the center of said branch, 250 feet west of Plaza Avenue, a corner of the Kannapolis Sanitary District; thence continuing along the boundary line of the Kannapolis Sanitary District in a northerly direction, parallel with and 250 feet west of the center of Plaza Avenue, for a distance of 140 feet, more or less, to the southern edge of West 18th Street, the point of Beginning.
