Davis reported that a total of $1~,756.g5 in <br /> <br />delinquent taxes had been collected by 3ohnson, Darts, and Horton, Attorneys, <br /> <br /> thru tax suits and other methods. Commissioners approved the collection fee. <br /> <br /> A letter from the Water and Soil Conservation District requesting permission <br />to hire William H. Cato two days each week at the rate of $25.00 per day to be <br />paid from funds already appropriated was unanimously approved upon motion by <br />Hawfield, seconded by McClary. <br /> <br /> County Manager Hurt requested permission to purchase three surplus 1969 <br />Ford patrol cars from the State Highway Patrol for Sheriff's Department and sale <br />by sealed bids of 3 sheriff's dept. cars being replaced. Commissioners granted <br />Mr. Hurt's request. <br /> <br /> A memorandum from the Institute of Government regarding compensation and <br /> <br />allowances of county commissioners was discussed. Commissioners instructed <br />County Manager Hurt to obtain from the Institute a comparison of compensation for <br />County Commissioners in the State and to obtain information pertaining to travel <br />allowance of counties around the State. <br /> <br /> Upon motion by Petrea, seconded by McClary, a request by Clerk of Court <br />Estus B. White for the purchase of four new I.B.M. typewriters was unanimously <br />approved. <br /> <br /> Upon motion by McClary, seconded by Hawfteld, the following road petitions <br />were approved: <br /> <br /> Township #12 - Tulip Ave., Request for surface treatment. <br /> <br /> Haging no further business; meeting adjourned. <br /> <br /> CIerk to Board · <br /> <br /> <br />
