RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR STAGGERED TERMS <br /> FOR THE MEMBERS OF THE SANITARY DISTRICT <br /> BOARD OF THE KANNAPOLIS SANITARY DISTRICT <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners for the County <br /> of Cabarrus has received from the Sanitary District Board of the <br /> Kannapolis Sanitary District a resolution requesting that the <br /> Board of Commissioners adopt such resolution as is required by <br /> Section 126 of Chapter 130 of the General Statutes of North, <br /> Carolina providing for the election of members of the Sanitary <br /> District Board of the Kannapolis Sanitary District for staggered <br /> four-year terms, so that at one general election the term of <br /> three members will expire and at the next general election the <br /> terms of two members will expire; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners for the County of <br /> Cabarrus finds that such request is reasonable and in the best <br /> interest of the Kannapolis Sanitary District in that it would <br /> provide for a continuity of experience on the Sanitary District <br /> Board of the Kannapolis Sanitary District; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br /> COMMISSIONERS FOR THE COUNTY OF CABARRUS: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the term of office of the members of the <br /> Kannapolis Sanitary District Board shall be for four years and <br /> until their successors qualify; that the terms shall be staggered <br /> so that at the first biennial election after the adoption of <br /> this resolution, and every four years thereafter, three members <br /> of the Kannapolis Sanitary District Board shall be elected for <br /> four-year terms, and that at the first biennial election after <br /> the adoption of this resolution, two members of the Kannapolis <br /> Sanitary District Board shall be elected for two-year terms and <br /> at the next biennial election, and every four years thereafter, <br /> <br />A..^.DE,&S,ow. tWO members of the Kannapolis Sanitary District Board shall be <br /> ATTORNEYS AT LAW <br /> <br />,,, .O.,,,O.AL.L.. elected for four-year terms. <br />KANNAPOLI5, N.
