Vote was una-ntmous. <br /> <br /> County Manager Hurt discussed with the board a situation which arose five <br />months.,prevtously: The county's purchase ,of four new .IBM elec,tric typewriters~ <br />for the Clerk of Superior Court. At the time the, machines, were _put ir[to s.er- <br />vice, the IBM representative sold two of the typewriters being replaced to <br />the Clerk's personnel although the used machines were not to have been traded <br />in. Mr. Hurt reported that he and the County Attorneys had been unable to <br />recover the machines despite conferences, with the IBM people and Mrs. Carolyn <br />Goodman and Mrs. Nancy Btggerstaff of the Clerk's office. He stated that <br />county funds..in the amount of $250.00 were tied up in the two machines. <br />County Attorney James C. Davi.s stated-.that it was. the responsibility of IBM <br />to correct-this situation and the board thereupo.n instructed Attorney Davis <br />to take whatever action necessary t.o bring the matter to a close. <br /> <br /> Charlotte Attorney James Cole appeared on behalf of the board of the <br />Rockland Sanitary District in response to previous appearances before the <br />board of commissioners by Attorney John Boger, Jr. representing three com- <br />plaints residing within the dtstrt..ct. Mr. Cole reported that Daniel and <br />Daniel CPA's had been retained to audit the Sanitary District l~ooks and that <br /> <br /> <br />
