Vote was unan- <br /> <br />imous. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Ranktn announced that the Peabody Study ,would be discussed <br /> and the three School Boards <br />by the Board]ion November 17, 1970 and that a public meeting concerning the <br />study would be held on the same date at night in the Superior Court room. <br /> <br /> Hawfteld made motion to raise the fees for Election Registrars and <br /> <br />Judges from $15.00 to SaO.O0 per d~/y. There was no 'second to the motion <br />and the matter was tabled. ' <br /> <br /> The 1969 tax settlement was presented by County Tax Collector C. Oice <br />Allen, Jr. Petrea made motion seconded by Hawfleld that it be accepted as <br />presented. Vote was unanimous, The tax settlement is recorded ~on page ~ <br />and becomes a part of those minutes. <br /> <br /> Petrea made motion, seconded by Ranktn ,to reappoint George Barrier and <br /> <br />Edward Overcash to the 6ounty Zoning and Planning Board for a three year <br /> <br />term. Vote was unanimous. <br /> <br /> County Mananger Hurt reported to the .Board that no state surplus pick <br /> <br />up trucks of the specifications require'd by the Planning Department were <br />available and'that he and Planner Jerry Myers had located a 196~J 6-cylinder- <br />Ford ½ ton pick-up with the long fleet side bed, which could be purchased <br />for $1,1~00.00. He stated that prices of new trucks were in excess of <br />$2,300.00 and would require advertising for bids. Several local dealers <br />were contacted regarding prices offered for similar '6ti model trucks and <br />$1,~00.00 was the lowest price offered. Commissioners told the County <br />Manager to purchase the truck from Troutman Moto~s,~or $1,400.00. <br /> <br /> Hawfield made motion seconded by Rankln to approve the following road <br /> <br />petitions.
