846 <br /> <br /> The regular, monthly meeting-of the Cabarrus County Commissioners <br /> <br /> was held at.~9:OOz~ M, onMarch. 1,.1S7~, at the Courthouse. <br /> <br /> ~-~ Present: Chairman - S. Glenn Hawfield, Jr. <br /> <br /> Commissioners - C. Frank James <br /> k I Robert A. McClary <br /> Charles Gallimore <br /> <br /> Absent: Commissioner - John Hammett <br /> Invocation was by the Rev. Glenn Moree. Minutes were read.and. <br /> approved. <br /> Attorney Boger presented a resolution approving a joint law <br /> enforcement agreement putting county law enforcement officers at <br /> the disposal of the City of Concord in case of emergency and vice <br /> versa. Motion made by McClary, seconded by Gallimore. Vote was <br /> <br /> unanimous. This resolution is recorded on Page 1 and become~ a <br /> <br /> part of these minutes. _. <br /> <br /> Use of the bus station by the Future Teachers of America was <br /> approved by the Board, for the period March 24 through March 27. <br /> Charles Gallimore presented a list of six recommendations and <br />m~ made motion that the ordinance establishing minimum lot sizes for <br /> residential use be sent back to county planners "for their <br /> <br /> consideration" of the six recommendations. McClary seconded motion. <br /> <br /> Vote. was unanimous. <br /> <br /> Charles Gallimore checked into matter of radios, bought as <br /> <br /> fire station equipment, going into private cars, and at the May <br /> meeting he will have ready a uniform schedule on the radios, in the <br /> form of a recommendation. <br /> <br /> Chairman Hawfield and Gallimore-announced that !'real good wood <br /> <br /> furniture" has been purchased fOr the new courtrOOm in Kannapolis in <br /> the former F. W. Wool. worth Building, at a savings of more than <br /> $300.00 to the county. <br /> <br /> A1Klimas, Health Director, appeared before the board, and <br /> <br /> asked for permission to enforce existing regulations on franchised <br /> garbage haulers. Boundaries for each of the hauler.~-were designated <br /> in the solid waste ordinance passed in 1964. Kl~mas presented a <br /> list of recommendations. <br /> <br /> Franchised garbage haulers in Cabarrus County have been given <br /> <br /> until July to withdraw back to within their designated areas and quit <br /> <br /> infringing on other haulers territory. <br /> <br /> A possibility that a performance bond for haulers be posted <br /> <br /> before permits are re-issued after the present permits to pick up <br /> <br /> garbage expire was also discussed. <br /> <br /> Motion made by.McClary,~ smx:onded by Gal)imore to accept A1 <br /> <br /> <br />
