NORTH CAROLINA IN THE SUPERIOR COURT
CABARRUS COUNTY MARCH SESSION, 1971

TO HIS HONOR ROBERT A COLLIER, JR.:

We, the Grand Jury, feel that the people of Cabarrus
County were misinformed about our new jail and plans for a new
Court House. Most everyone was under the impression that both
the jail and courthouse were to be built at the same time, which
was not true. We are proud of our new jail and would like very
much to see a new courthouse, with enough room to take care of
all departments that are housed within.

We, the Grand Jury, recommend that the old courthouse be
torn down and a new one built as soon as possible. In this
building age has taken its toll. It would certainly cost the
tax payers of Cabarrus County much more in the long-run to
maintain this building, remodeli~gland maintance.

This the 16 day of March, 1971.

FOREMAN OF THE GRAN~ JURY
