102 <br /> <br /> Gallimore made motion, seconded by McClary and carried, requesting <br /> <br /> that John Boger~ Jr. prepare a resolution on the County's plans to use <br /> the permanent listing of real estate and send it to the State Board of <br /> Assessment .... <br /> <br /> On motion by James~ seconded by Hammett and carried, the. Board <br /> <br /> gave Terry L. Rowland authority to work out a settlement with Advance <br /> Hosiery, Inc. whose President W. H. Denny requested that machinery and <br /> equipment be classified as obsolete and listed as a "reasonable salvage <br /> value." <br /> <br /> Rowland said Denny had made the request on his listing but had <br /> <br /> not requested a hearing before the Board of Equalization and Review. <br /> <br /> The Board gave permission to advertise for bids for two cars for <br /> <br /> the Sheriff's Department. <br /> <br /> Hammett made motion, seconded by Galltmore and carried to adver- <br /> <br /> tise for bids for gas, tires and fuel <br /> <br /> Buildin§ Inspector Charlte Irvin requested the Board,s support <br /> <br /> in carrying out a condemnation program and backing in removal of condemned <br /> houses. The Board gave Irvin its sapport and noted that if a person who <br /> has been requested to tear down a house does not do so the County will <br /> have the house removed and add the cost to the house owner*s following <br /> year's tax. <br /> <br /> Hammett made motion, seconded by Gallimore, to adopt a resolution <br /> <br /> amending the interest date on school bonds issued last month. The date on <br /> which the interest was payable read December 1 and had to be amended to <br /> read June 1. This resolution is recorded on Page iOO and becom~a part <br /> of these minutes. <br /> <br /> On motion by Gallimore~ seconded by Han~ett and carried~ Come <br /> <br /> missioners approved the advertisement for bids for communication equipment <br /> <br /> which will link Kannapolis, Concord and surrounding law enforcement agencies. <br /> <br /> Motion made by Gallimore, seconded by Hammett and carried, that (1) <br /> <br /> when the new communications system is installed that the fire alarm system <br /> be put in the console: and (2) after new equipment is installed the fire- <br /> men will be allowed to buy the old, usable equipment. <br /> <br /> Members of the Board made the decision to finish the unfinished <br /> <br /> basement of the Cabarrus County Law Enforcement Building. McClary made <br /> motion, seconded by Hammett and carried, that the architect be directed <br /> to advertise for taking of bids on the general contract for converting <br /> the space into four offices and a large meeting-training room.
