Permission was given County Forester Joe Black to purchase a chain <br /> <br />saw that will be used in conjunction with fighting woods fires in the County. <br /> <br /> Requests from Black for a telephone answering service and two walkie <br />talkies were tabled until the telephone request is checked into by <br />Commissioner Charles Gallimore and until after a new county radio <br />communications system is installed to see if extra walkie talkies are <br />available. <br /> <br /> Estimated cost of the three requests, for which there is no matching <br />funds under the forestry program, was $1,425.00. <br /> <br /> Commissioners approved fire district commissions for five fire <br />districts and set their terms of office from January 1, 1972 to December <br />31, 1974. This action was taken on a motion made by Gallimore, seconded <br />by Hammett and carried. <br /> <br /> The fire commissioners are: <br /> <br /> Mt. Mitchell Volunteer Fire Department - Clarence Walters <br /> James Christy <br /> P. B. Htleman <br /> <br /> Poplar Tent Volunteer Fire Department - John Foster <br /> Hubert Foster <br /> Wallace Halsey <br /> <br /> Rimer Volunteer Fire Department - Ken Manus <br /> Frank Sifford <br /> Sam T. Wise <br /> <br /> Harrisburg Volunteer Fire Department - W. H. Williams <br /> Joe L. Sims <br /> Bobby J. Sides <br /> <br /> Jackson Park Volunteer Fire Department - John H. Cline <br /> Ray Barbee, Jr. <br /> F. B.
