108 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE BOARD OF CO~ISSIONERS FOR THE <br /> COUNTY OF CABARRUS TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL SCHOOL FACILITIES <br /> -IN THE SEVERAL SCHOOL ADMINISTRATIVE UNITS IN CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Kannapol±s City Board of Education: <br /> <br /> Section 1. The Cabarrus County Board of Education, the Concord City <br /> <br /> Board of Education and the Kannapol±s City Board of Education have determined <br /> and found as a fact that adequate school facilit±es are not now available in the <br /> several school adm±nistrat±ve units ±n Cabarrus County to comply with the provis±ons <br /> of Section 2 of Art±cle IX of the Const±tution of North Carolina for the maintenance <br /> of schools nine (9) months in every year, and that it ±s necessary, in order to <br /> ma±nta±n such nine (9) months' school term, as required by said Section 2 of <br /> Article IX of the Const±tution, to erect additional school buildings and other <br /> school plant fac±l±ties, remodel, enlarge and reconstruct existing school buildings <br /> and other school plant facil±tes, and acquire necessary land and equ±pment therefor, <br /> ±n order to provide addit±onal school facilities ±n the several units, t'he <br /> estimated cost of wh±ch is Nine M±llion Seven Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars(S9,750,000); <br /> this sum to be div±ded among the several units based upon the per capita enroll- <br /> ment of Cabarrus County students in each of the three units as certified by the <br /> State Board of Educat±on for the school year 1971-72. <br /> <br /> Section 2. The Board of Comm±ss±oners for the County of Cabarrus is <br /> <br /> requested to take all necessary steps to provide funds for such school facilities, <br /> including, but not limited to the calling of a county-wide election for Saturday, <br /> September 9, 1972, asprov.ided by the General Statutes of North Carolina, and <br /> in particular General Statutes Section 115-121, for the purpose of ascertaining <br /> the will of the voters of Cabarrus County as to whether Nine Million Seven <br /> Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($9,750,000) in bonds for school purposes may be <br /> issued. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That a copy of this resolution shall immediately be <br /> <br /> certified to the Board of Commissioners ~6r Cabarrus County. <br /> <br /> <br />
