109 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR <br /> THE COUNTY OF CABARRUS TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL SCHOOL <br /> FACILITIES~IN THE SEVERAL SCHOOL ADMINISTRATIVE UNITS <br /> IN CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Concord City Board of Education: <br /> <br /> Section 1. The Cabarrus County Board of Education, the Concord City <br />Board of Education and the Kannapolis City Board of Education have determined <br />and found as a fact that adequate school facilities are not now available in <br />the several school administrative units in Cabarrus County to comply with the <br />provisions of Section 2 of Article IX of the County to comply with the provisions <br />of Section 2 of Article IX of the Constitution of North Carolina for the maintenance <br />of schools nine (9) months in every year, and that it is necessary, in order to <br />maintain such nine (9) months' school term, as required by said Section 2 of <br />Article IX of the Constitution, to erect additional school buildings and other <br />school plant facilities, remodel, enlarge and reconstruct existing school buildings <br />and other school plant facilities, and acquire necessary land and equipment <br />therefor, in order to provide additional school facilities in the several units, <br />the estimated cost of which is Nine Million Seven Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars <br />($9,750,000); this sum to be divided among the several units based upon the per <br />capita enrollment of Cabarrus County students in each of the three units as <br />certified by the State Board of Education for the school year 1971-72. <br /> <br /> Section 2. The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus <br /> <br />is requested to take all necessary steps to provide funds for such school <br />facilities, including~, but not limited to the calling of a county-wide election <br />for Saturday, September 9, 1972, as provided by the General Statutes of North <br />Carolina, and in particular General Statutes Section 115-121, for the purpose <br />of ascertaining the will of the voters of Cabarrus County as to whether Nine Million <br />Seven Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($9,750,000.0q) in bonds for school purposes <br />may be issued. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That a copy of this resolution shall immediately be <br /> <br />certified to the Board of Commissioners for Cabarrus County. <br /> <br /> <br />
