The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus met in <br /> <br /> regular session at the Courthouse in Concord, North Carolina on Monday, <br /> <br /> November 6, 1972 at 9:00 a.m. <br /> <br /> Present:Chairman: S. Glenn Hawfield, Jr. <br /> Commissioners: Robert A. McClary <br /> C. Frank James <br /> John A. Hammett <br /> <br /> Absent: Commissioner: Charles Ga llimore <br /> The invocation was by the Reverend Coy Privette of North Kannapolis <br /> Baptist Church. <br /> The minutes of the October 2, 1972 meeting were read and approved. <br /> McClary made motion, seconded by Mammett to adopt the Resolution <br /> Relating to the Annexation of Territory to Kannapolis Sanitary District. <br /> Vote carried. This resolution is recorded on page 169 and becomes a <br /> part of these minutes. <br /> Motion by McClary to adopt Resolution Relating to the Annexation <br /> of Territory to Royal Oaks Sanitary D~strict, was Seconded by <br /> Hammett and vote carried. This resolution is recorded on page 170 and <br /> becomes a part of these minutes. <br /> Mrs° Virginia Pethel, Carl Blue and Carl Wright appeared to ask <br />l ~ endorsement of group living in the co~unity for psychiatric outpatients <br /> from the Veterans Administration Hospital. They were asked to meet with <br /> Mental Health, Health Department, Social Services and Veterans Adminis- <br /> tration. The recommendations ensuing from this meeting are to be <br /> presented to the Commissioners at the next meeting. <br /> Hammett made motion, seconded by McClary to appoint S. F. Brown, <br /> Mrs. Joanne C. Potts (Lawrence L.) and Jerry Hagler as Commissioners <br /> for the Jackson Park Sanitary District. Vote carried. <br /> Chairman Hawfield called the ~?ublic Hearing on the questing of <br /> farm assessment at farm values rather than actual values to order. <br /> Twelve (12) persons spoke in favor of assessment at farm value. They <br /> were William E. Cook, George Stacey, Guy Isenhour, Ernest Porter, Jr., <br />· J.O. Pharr, Donald Hill, Jim Wise, Ralph Bonds, Mac Cline, Troy Cook, <br />I Joe Sims and Lipe Barrier. Approximately 150 persons attended with all <br /> in favor of farm assessment at farm value. <br /> <br /> <br />
