December 2]., ].972 <br /> <br />The master plan report for sanitary sewer for Cabarrus County <br />is in the advanced stages of completion. The sanitary sewer <br />requirements for Dutch Buffalo Creek, on which is located the <br />Town of Mount Pleasant, will be a part of this'master planning <br />report. <br /> <br />l~reliminary plannir~indicates that three possible solutions to the <br />disposal of sanitary sewage from Dutch Buffalo Creek will be <br />acceptable under regional planning criteria of the Environmental <br />l'~ot~ct ].on'.Agendy .'~' <br /> <br />The Office of Water and Air Resources o£ the Department o£ Natural <br />and Economical Resources is now preparing a sub-basin plan for <br />the Yadkin-Pee .Dee River. Rocky River and its tributaries will be <br />a part of this sub-basin p!an. The sub-basin plan. indicate that an <br />extremely high degree of treatment will be required of any waste water <br />which will be discharged into Dutch Buffalo Creek. This advanced <br />waste treatment will require over 08% removal of B. O.D. and sus- <br />pended solids, 100% ammonia conVersion and possible nutrient removal. <br />This degree of treatment will be expensive both for plant construction <br />and operation. <br /> <br />The master plan report for Cabarrus County will include an economic <br />analysis of the feasibility of serving the Mount Pleasant-Dutch Buffalo <br />Creek section of the county with sanitary sewage £acilities in the <br /> <br /> <br />
