MottR~n s~econded by Gallimore and vote carried. <br /> <br /> Poplar Tent Volunteer Fire Department invited the Commissioners <br /> <br /> to Open House on February 18, 1973 between 2 and 5:00 p.m. <br /> <br /> McClary made motion~to adopt the resolution concerning Corum <br /> <br />F. Miller and stated that they appreciated the fact that he took the time <br /> <br /> to train O'Niel Turner. Motion seconded by Gallimore and vote carried. <br /> <br /> Ha~Lett made motion to contact the City of Concord to determine <br />whether they intended to construct the police department on county <br />property as offered in March of 1972. Motion seconded by McClary and <br /> <br />~ote carried. <br /> <br /> Gallimore made motion that William R. Wade's title be changed-to. <br /> <br />County Administrator to better define his duties. Motion seconded by <br /> <br />Jam~s and vote unanimously carried. <br /> <br /> The letter from New Hanover County concerning the appointment of <br />County Commissioners by the legislature was given to Attorney Boger for <br />review and comment. <br /> <br /> R. E. Fisher stated that an engineer had been contacted to <br /> <br />determine the feasibility of the construction of a sanitary district in <br /> <br />the Sou~hwood Park area. <br /> <br /> Motion by James, seconded by Hammett, and carried to accept the <br />following road petitions: <br /> <br /> Request for addition - Eastside Central <br /> Henry Stall Road <br /> County Road ~1444 <br /> Wilder Road <br /> <br /> The Board authorized George Griffin to hire Architect Pease as <br /> <br />a consultant for th~ interior decoration of the new courthouse. <br /> <br /> A group of citizens consisting of Mrs. Sam Perkins, Mrs. O. L. <br />Honeycutt, Carolyn Fink, Rose Stanley, Henrietta Allen, Mrs. Joe Safrit <br />and James Mason presented a petition stating "We the undersigned, request <br />that the County Co~Lissioners appropriate the funds for the badly needed <br />temporary classrooms in the county school system. We hope these classrooms <br />will be ready for the fall term. These temporary classrooms will be assigned <br />to the following schools: Northwest Cabarrus - 1, Odell - 4, Harrisburg - 4, <br /> <br /> <br />
