WHEREAS, property owners petitioned the North Carolina <br />State Highway Commission to abandon the following portion of the <br />Prison Camp Road. Beginning on the west side of SR 2604 (this <br />point being approximately 3200' North from the intersection of <br />SR 2604 and Highway 73) thence in a westerly direction 3250' to <br />the most northerly end of SR 2606; ~and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, North Carolina State Highway Commission <br />abandoned said road on February 20, 1973; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Notice of Petition to abandon was duly <br />published in the Concord Tribune and a copy of said notice mailed <br />to James D. Brooks and John A. Foil; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the abandonment of said portion of the <br /> <br />Prison Camp Road would not deny access to a public road to any <br />adjoining land owner; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, there has been no objection to the abandonment <br />of this portion of the Prison Camp Road. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED that pursuant to the authority of G. S. <br />153-9(17), that portion of the Prison Camp Road beginning on the <br />west side of SR 2604 (this point being approximately 3200' North <br />from the intersection of SR 2604 and Highway 73) thence in a <br />westerly direction 3250' to the most northerly end of SR 2606, <br />is hereby closed. <br /> <br /> <br />
