201 <br /> <br /> Meeting recessed by Chairman Hawfield until 1:30 p.m. <br /> <br /> Chairman Hawf~eld reconvened meeting at 1:30 p.m. <br /> <br /> A group of local realtors from Kannapolis appeared before the Board complaining about <br />rent subsidy housing being constructed in Kannapolis, while their apartments are standing <br />empty. Commissioner Gallimore stated that he would research the Board's past action on <br /> <br />this rent subsidy housing and would submit a report to the complaining <br /> <br />realtors during the ensuing week. Chairman Hawfteld authorized Commissioner McClary to <br /> <br />meet with Mr. Carlyle Rutledge, attorney, to determine the County's need for rent <br /> <br /> subsidy housing. <br /> <br /> Chairman Hawfield presented a "Master Plan for Wastewater Treatment and Collection <br /> <br />for Cabarrus County" conducted and compiled by Pierson & Whitman, Inc., Consulting Engineers. <br />Chairman Hawfield also presented correspondence initiated by Mr. E. C. Hubbard, Assistant <br />Director for the Department of Natural and Economic Resources, Raleigh, N.C., on the <br />subject of "Pollution Abatement Needs, Cabarrus County, North Carolina", dated April 9, 1973. <br />At the conclusion of the presentation, Commissioner McClary made a motion, seconded by <br />Gallimore that Cabarrus County agree to work with the City of Concord and Cannon Mills <br />Company on Wastewater Treatment Facilities that have been proposed by Pierson & Whitman, <br />Engineers, to be constructed in the area of the Rocky River Basin and its sub-basins· <br />Chairman Hawfield appointed Commissioners McClary and James to serve on a coordinating <br />committee for the proposed Wastewater Treatment Facilities. <br /> <br /> Motion by M¢Clary, seconded by Gallimore to appoint Mrs. Norma C. Howard to the <br />Cabarrus County Human Relations Commission. <br /> <br /> Having no further business, meeting adjourned. <br /> <br /> William R.
