Sanitary Districts regarding this problem in the Bethel and Ester Circle Communities. The <br />Board requested County Attorney, John Boger, to investigate possible sources of Federal <br />Funds to help alleviate this problem in tee Bethel and Ester Circle Communities; determine <br />the legal obligations of the Kannapolis and Royal Oaks Sanitary Districts; and to report <br />his findings to the Board and to the Reverend Koeneke. Chairman Hawfield summed up the <br />Board's willingness to investigate and assist where it can in resolving this problem. <br /> <br /> Motion by Gallimore, seconded by James to advertise for a public hearing on the <br /> <br />abandonment of a right-of-way of 0.10 miles of SR1622. Vote carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Resolution presented by Hammett, seconded by James, to postpone the regular July <br /> <br />meeting to July 9, 1973. Vote carried unanimously. This resolution is recorded on Page 219 <br /> <br />and becomes a part of these minutes. <br /> <br /> Motion by Hammett, seconded by Gallimore, to permit Chairman Hawfield and County <br /> <br />Administrator, Richard Wade, to approve and pay the monthly bills for May 1973. Vote <br /> <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Gallimore presented "Certification of Firemen" forms on various Volunteer <br /> <br />Fire Departments and explained to the Board that this was an annual affair that enabled <br />the Volunteer Firemen in the County to qualify for benefits from the State's Firemen Pension <br />Fund. Motion by Gallimore seconded by McClary to permit Chairman Hawfield to approve and <br />sign the "Certification of Firemen" forms as they are received from the Fire Departments. <br />Vote carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Chairman Hawfield presented a letter from Mr. Joyn~ in which he complained about the <br /> <br />poor ambulance service in the County. <br /> <br /> Chairman Hawfield presented a letter from John T. McClure of Davidson, North Carolina, <br /> <br />in which he requested information relative to the inclusion of the County "Farm Offices" <br /> <br />in the plans for the new courthouse. <br /> <br /> Motion by McClary, seconded by Gallimore, that the Accounting firm of Daniels & ~ant~ls <br /> <br />be retained for the audit of the County records at the end of this fiscal year. Voted for: <br /> <br />McClary, Gallimore and James. ~bstained: Hammett. <br /> <br /> The Board discussed County personnel policies briefly and instructed County Admini- <br /> <br />strator, Richard Wade, to confer with Estus White, Clerk of Superior Court, regarding the <br />holidays that are observed by the State. Motion by Gallimore, seconded by James to adopt, <br />effective July ~, 1973, personnel policies that conform with the State. Vote carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br /> The Board discussed the availability and distribution of County maps. Motion by <br /> <br />McClary, seconded by Hammett, that Gary Wilson, Acting County Planner, be authorized to <br />procure from the Champion Map Company a quantity of County maps in the amount of $600.00, <br />with the stipulation that should the Champion Map Company sell or distribute the maps to <br />outsiders that the County would be reimbursed for the maps so distributed. Vote carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />
