the N. C. Department of Natural and Economic Resources with regard to selected zoning, <br />county base map, and related services. Seconded by McClary. Vote carried unanimously. <br />This resolution is recorded on page 227 and becomes a part of these minutes. <br /> <br /> Commissioner McClary reported on the proposed County ambulance ~ervice that will <br /> <br />commence on October 1, 1973. McClary discussed the future appointment and makeup of an <br />ambulance advisory board. Commissioner Gallimore reported on the availability of Federal <br />Funds from the Governor's Highway Safety Council. Commissioner Gallimore reported that <br />Mr. Frank Kivett with th~ Centralina Council of Governments would assist the County in the <br />application for these funds. Commissioner Gallimore stated that applicants for employment <br />by the County ambulance service should be referred to County Administrator, Richard Wade. <br /> <br /> Cabarrus County Health Director, A1Klimas, appeared before the Board with a request <br /> <br />that the Board approve merit increases for the local Health Department personnel who are <br />recommended for such increases by the Health Director. Funds for merit increases are <br />available from N. C. State Board of Health and will not require any County funds. Klimas <br />noted that the Cabarrus County Board of Health approved the receipt of State Funds for <br />merit increases. Commissioners M¢Clary, Gallimo~e, James, and Hammett approved the <br />action of the County Board of Health. Cabarrus County Health Director, A1Klimas, informed <br />the Board that the N. C. State Board of Healtk had allocated $19,431.00 in Grant Funds <br />for the improvement of health services in the County. Klimas reported that these funds <br />are an outright grant 'and would not require ary matching County funds. <br /> <br /> George Griffin, architect, appeared befoIe the Board regarding the ground breaking <br /> <br />ceremonies for the New County Courthouse. Chairman Hawfield called a special meeting on <br />July 19,1973, at 9:00 a.m. for the ground-breaking ceremonies for the New County Courthouse <br />and for accepting bids for ambulances for the County's ambulance service, which will commence <br />on October 1, 1973. <br /> <br /> Motion by James, seconded by Gallimore to accept the following road petitions: <br /> <br /> Request for addition - Luvine Hills (comprised of Devereux Circle, Knollcrest <br /> Drive, and Springbrook) <br /> Mona Avenue <br /> <br /> Having no further business, meeting adjourned. <br /> <br /> William R.
