Gary Wilson discussed Senate Bill 244 known as the "Sedimentation Pollution Con~e~l <br /> <br /> Act of 1973" and asked the Board to consider adopting this act or a similar one so <br /> that the persons effected would not have to make applications to Raleigh but could do <br /> it locally. He was ahked to discuss the matter with the people it would effect and <br /> get their reactions. <br /> <br /> The Board postponed action on the tax schedules for xevaluation of property for <br /> <br /> 1975 as presented by Terry Rowland and Associated Surveys, Inc. <br /> <br /> Pursuant to discussion of the 1972 tax bill by Terry Rowland, NcClary made motion <br /> <br /> to approve the listing of Congreas Factors Corporation for machinery and equipment <br /> <br /> only as $368,390.00 for the year 1972. James seconded the motion and vote carried. <br /> <br /> Gallimore moved for the adoption of the following resolutions <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED, That the membership of the County Board of Social Services <br /> <br /> increased from three to five members as provided in Section 8 of Chapter 108 of <br /> be <br /> <br /> the North Carolina General StatutesI <br /> <br /> That, effective upon approval of the increase by the State Social Services <br /> <br />/ Counission, Nfs. Tom Foster (Jean) be appointed as the additional member selected by <br /> <br /> the Board of Commissioners for a term expiring on the 30th day of June, 1975. <br /> <br /> That this decision be reported by the Chairman to the State Department of Husmn <br /> <br /> Resources. <br /> <br /> The motion seconded by NcClary and vote carried <br /> <br /> Gallimore made motion to request the State Social Services Commission to appoint <br /> <br /> C. NcNeil Petrea as the additional member at the recommendation of the Cabarrus County <br /> <br /> Social Services Board. NcClary seconded the motion and vote carried. <br /> <br /> Notion by Gallimore, seconded by James and carriedt .to collect the 197&/75 taxes. <br /> <br /> levied for the Town of Harrisburg as requested. <br /> <br /> NcClary made motion to authorize the foll~ing state system roads be incorporated <br /> <br /> into the Town of Harrisburg Road System, if it meets state approval.
