Commissioner Hammett made motion that upon the recommendation of the Planning and <br /> <br />Zoning Board that W. Jack Alston be appointed County Planner at a starting salary <br /> <br />of $12,000.00. Motion seconded by Commissioner Milloway and vote unanimously carried. <br /> <br /> Newland Lane of 102 Vantage Street in Kannapolis wanted to know who had <br /> <br />jurisdiction over the parking of old cars in yards and the housing of animals. The <br />Board told him that the Health Department could treat the area for rodents and they <br />would consider adopting an ordinance concerning old cars. <br /> <br /> Upon motion of Commissioner Hinson, seconded by Commissioner Hammett and <br /> <br />carried to adopt the following resolution. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Officers and Directors of Pitts Volunteer Fire Department <br /> <br /> have requested that, for the purposes of securing a rating by the North <br /> Carolina Fire Insurance Rating Bureau, different boundaries be set up for <br /> said Fire District so that persons within the said boundaries would be <br /> entitled to a reduction in their insurance premiums; and whereas, said <br /> Officers and Directors understand that all of the residents within the Pitts <br /> Fire District as it now exists would be entitled to fire protection from <br /> said Volunteer Fire Department, but desire to have certain of their citizens <br /> as may be eligible receive reduced insurance premiums; and whereas, the <br /> Cabarrus County Fire Marshal and North Carolina Fire Insurance Rating Bureau, <br /> as evidenced by letter of November 21, 1974, have requested the Cabarrus <br /> County Commissioners to set out the boundaries hereinafter set forth solely <br /> for the purpose of rating requirements; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, the Cabarrus County Commissioners do hereby resolve: <br /> <br /> (1) That the boundaries of the Pitts Volunteer Fire Department for the <br /> <br /> purposes of rating by the North Carolina Fire Insurance Rating Bureau shall <br /> <br /> be as follows: <br /> <br /> Beginning at a point (1) at the intersection of Coddle Creek and the <br /> transmission line of Duke Power Company; thence in a southerly direction to <br /> a point (2) at the intersection of Roads 1519 and 1394, including property <br /> on Roads 1519 and 1441; thence in a southeasterly direction to a point (3) <br /> at the intersection of Roads 1431 and 1433; thence in a southeasterly direc- <br /> tion to a point (4) at the intersection of U. S. Highway 29 and Road 1310; <br /> thence in a southwesterly direction to a point (5) at the intersection of <br /> Roads 1305 and 1433, excluding property on Road 1433;thence in a south- <br /> westerly direction to a point (6) on Road 1300, 0.1 mile southeast of its <br /> intersection with U. S. Highway 29; thence in a southwesterly direction to <br /> a point (7) at the intersection of U. S. Highway 29 and Road 1302; thence <br /> in a southwesterly direction t~ a point (8) on U. S. Highway 29 at ths <br /> Cabarrus-Mecklenburg County Line; thence in a northwesterly direction along <br /> the Cabarrus-Mecklenburg County line to a point (9) at its intersection with <br /> Road 1300; thence in a northwesterly direction to a point (10) at the dead- <br /> end of Road 1518; thence in a northwesterly direction to a point (11) at the <br /> intersection of Road 1394 and 1442, including property on Road 1~18; thence <br /> in a northeasterly direction to a point (1), the beginning excluding <br /> property on Road 1444. <br /> <br /> (2) The boundaries of the Pitts Fire Department shall remain as they <br /> <br /> have been prior to this Resolution, except that only the citizens in the above <br /> boundaries shall be entitled to a fire insurance rating and the Pitts Volunteer <br /> Fire Department shall continue to serve all of the residents within the <br /> boundaries heretofore adopted. <br /> <br /> <br />
