B. S. Brown, Jr., representing the Kannapolis Sanitary District, presented the following <br />resolution which was read: <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION RELATING TO THE ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY TO KANNAPOLIS SANITARY DISTRICT <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioner for the County of Cabarrus: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus has determined <br /> <br />and does hereby find and declare: <br /> <br /> (a) That on November 26, 1974, a resolution was received from the Sanitary District <br /> <br />Board of the Kannapolis Sanitary District relating to the annexation of territory to the <br /> <br />Kannapolis Sanitary District. <br /> <br /> (b) That the territory described in the petition consists of the property of <br /> <br />Harry Sloop and wife, Hazel Sloop, and Clarence B. Sloop and wife, Veda B. Sloop. <br /> <br /> (c) That the petition was signed by all property owners within the area requested <br /> <br />to be annexed. <br /> <br /> (d) That said petition requests that all necessary action required by Article 12 <br /> <br />of Chapter 130 of the General Statutes of North Carolina for the extension of the boundaries <br />of the Kannapolis Sanitary District be taken so as to annex the territory described in the <br />petition unto the Kannapolis Sanitary District. <br /> <br /> (e) That it is for the best interest of the Kannapolis Sanitary District and the <br /> <br />territory requested to be annexed unto the Kannapolis Sanitary District that said territory <br />be included within the boundaries of the Kannapolis Sanitary District and receive the <br />services of the Sanitary District. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus does hereby <br /> <br />approve the annexation of the territory described in the petition unto the Kannapolis <br />Sanitary District and does hereby recommend to the North Carolina State Board of Health <br />that it approve the annexation of the territory unto the Kannapolis Sanitary District. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That the Clerk of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus <br /> <br />is hereby directed to certify a copy of this resolution to the North Carolina State Board <br /> <br />of Health. <br /> <br /> Thereupon, upon motion of Commissioner McClary, seconded by Commissioner Hammett, <br /> <br />the foregoing resolution was unanimously passed. <br /> <br /> Commissioner McClary made motion to turn over the Farm Census to the Agricultural <br /> <br />Extension Service to conduct in 1975. Motion seconded by Commissioner Hammet and vote carried. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Hinson made motion that Attorney Boger draw up a resolution thanking <br /> <br />Charles Gallimore and C. Frank James for their services on the Board of County Commissioners. <br /> <br />Motion seconded by Commissioner Mc Clary and vote carried. <br /> <br /> Attorney Boger reported on the law suit that had been filed by Mrs. Robert Freeman <br /> <br /> and the United textile Workers Union against the Sheriff and certain other deputies. <br /> <br /> He had filed a motion to dismiss the case and it would be heard in federal district court <br /> <br /> on December 20, 1974. <br /> <br /> Having no futher business, meeting adjourned. <br /> <br /> <br />
