of understanding with the North Carolina Department of Human Resources for child support <br /> <br />enforcement. Motion seconded by Commissioner McClary and vote carried. <br /> <br /> Commissioner McClary made a motion that persons who are deputized by the sheriff <br /> <br />of the county as special deputy sheriffs or persons who are serving as a volunteer law <br />enforcement officer at the request of the sheriff and under his authoritY, while under- <br />going official training and while performing duties on behalf of the county pursuant to <br />orders or instructions of the sheriff, shall be entitled to benefits under the North <br />Carolina Workmen's Compensation Act. MOtion seconded by Commissioner Hammett and vote <br />unanimously carried. <br /> <br /> Upon motion of Commissioner McClary, seconded by Commissioner Hinson and carried, the <br /> <br />following ordinance was adopted: <br /> Section 1. <br /> <br /> It shall be unlawful for the owner, keeper or harborer of any dog to permit such dog to <br /> <br />run at large on any public road, street, or highway or upon the lands of any other person <br /> <br />without the consent of that person. <br /> Section 2. <br /> <br /> It shall be lawful for the Dog Warden or any of his agents or for any law enforcement <br /> <br />officer to take up any dog running at large in violation of this ordinance and impound the <br /> <br />same with the Dog Warden. The Dog Warden shall abide by G. S. 67-32 and the holding period <br /> <br />shall be three (3) days. <br /> Section 3. <br /> <br /> Any person violating the provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor <br /> <br />and fined not more that Fifty Dollars ($50.00) or imprisoned for a period of not more than <br /> <br />thirty (30) days. <br /> Section 4. <br /> <br /> This ordinance shall apply to all areas of Cabarrus County which lie outside of the <br /> <br />corporate limits of any municipality. <br /> Section 5. <br /> <br /> This ordinance shall be in full force and effect on and after the 1st day of March, 1976. <br /> Commissioner Milloway made motion to approve the road name change as presented by <br /> <br />Jack Alston, County Planner. Motion seconded by Commissioner Hammett and vote carried. <br /> <br /> The Board received a letter of resignation from Rudy Davis, Recreation Director, effective <br /> <br />February 6, 1976. <br /> <br /> Having no further business, meeting adjourned. <br /> <br /> Cler~to the Board <br /> <br /> <br />
