Upon Motion of Commissioner Hinson, Billy D. Plummer was appointed to replace Troy <br /> <br />Camp on the Planning Board. Motion seconded by Commissioner Hammett and vote carried. <br /> <br /> The proposed zoning ordinance and the outcome of the public hearings was discussed. <br /> <br />Commissioner Hinson made motion to reject the ordinance as written and send it back to the <br />Planning Board and to appoint a committee of eleven (11) (one from each township) to work <br />on the planning of a new ordinance. Motion seconded by Commissioner McClary and vote <br />unanimously carried. D. Manuel Kiser and those opposing the zoning ordinance and the <br />County Planner are to suggest people to serve on this committee. From this list the <br />commissioners will appoint the committee. <br /> <br /> Peirson and Whiteman, Inc., Consulting Engineers, submitted to the 8wner a tabulation <br /> <br />of Proposals received for: Construction of Sanitary Sewer from Irish Buffalo Creek to the <br />Cabarrus County Home Property and reported to the Owne~ that in their opinion the best bid <br />received for furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, etc. for Construction of said <br />sewer was that of Propst Construction Company. <br /> <br /> Thereupon, Robert A. McClary moved that the proposal of Propst Construction Company <br /> <br />be accepted as the best bid received, from the standpoint of the Owners interest, and that <br />the Chairman and Clerk to the Board be authorized to execute, on behalf of the Owner, a <br />formal agreement embodying the provisions of said proposal. The motion was seconded by <br />John A. Hammett and adopted on the following call vote. Ayes: Chairman Hawfield, <br />Commissioners McClary, Hammett, Milloway and Hinson. Nays: None. <br /> <br /> Chairman Hawfield stated that the Lane Street ribbon cutting would be February 16, 1976. <br /> <br /> Pursuant to a request from Dr. Mabel McLain, President of Barber Scotia College, <br /> <br />Commissioner Milloway was appointed to serve on a commmnity involvement committee. <br /> <br /> Sheriff Roberts has been served a summons in a civil action suit brought by Brian <br /> <br />Eppley, a prisoner in Cabarrus County Jail in November. Commissioner Hammett made motion <br />to allow John Boger, Attorney, to represent the sheriff in this action. Motion seconded <br />by Commissioner McClary and vote unanimously carried. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Hammett made motion to advertise and receive bids at the March meeting <br /> <br />for a storm sewer f~om the back of Cabarrus Memorial Hospital to Three Mile Branch as <br />required in the lease agreement. Commissioner Minson seconded the motion and vote <br />unanimously carried. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Hammett made motion to advertise for bids for equipment for the Register <br /> <br />of Deeds' office and the Planning Office subject to the approval of the building committee. <br /> <br />Motion seconded by Commissioner Hinson and vote carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Carolyn Eury, Peter Bishop and David Perry were appointed to the Youth Advisory Council. <br /> <br />A representative f~om the Health Department, Law Enforcement and schools is to be appointed. <br /> <br /> Upon motion of Commissioner Hinson, seconded by Commissioner Milloway and carried, to <br /> <br /> accept the following road petitions: Request for addition - Stonewall Road, Caro-Mar Place, <br /> <br /> Farmwood Boulevard and Woodcress Drive. <br /> <br /> Upon motion of Commissioner McClary, seconded by Commissioner Hammett and unanimously <br /> <br />carried, J. B. Roberts, Jr. was appointed to the Criminal Justice Advisory Committee. <br /> <br /> <br />
