Wade <br /> <br /> William R. Wade <br /> County Manager <br /> <br /> Commissioner Hammett made motion to accept William R. Wade's letter of resignation <br /> <br />effective June 17, 1976. Motion seconded by Commissioner McClary and vote unanimously <br /> <br />carried. <br /> <br /> Having no further business, meeting adjourned. <br /> <br /> Clerk~o the B6ard <br /> <br /> The Board of Commissioners ~et the County of Cabarrus met in special session at the <br />Courthouse in Concord, N. C. on Thursday, June 24, 1976 at 2:00 p.m.. <br /> <br /> Present - Chairman: S. Glenn Hawfield, Jr. <br /> <br /> Commissioners: Robert A. McClary <br /> John A. Hammett <br /> Marcelle Milloway <br /> <br /> Reverend Richard Koehneke presented a request for an increase of $1,110.00 in excess <br />of the 60% share normally appropriated from the County. The request will be considered. <br /> <br /> At 2:30 p.m. the f~llowing bids for radio equipment for the Department of Social <br />Services were opened and read: <br /> <br /> Total Unit 1 Total Unit 2 <br /> <br />Motorola Communication & <br /> Electronics, Inc. $4,356.16 $4,056.16 <br /> <br />Two Way Radio Service, Inc. 3,745.28 3,237.00 <br /> <br /> In as much as Two Way Radio Service, Inc. did not have a bid bond the County couldi <br />not consider the bid. The bid from Motorola exceeded the available money and the Board <br />requested Frances Long, Department of Social Services Director to contact state officials <br />to determine what can be done. <br /> <br /> Chairman Hawfield presented Dennis Grissom and Blair Bennett with the Local Government <br />Commission~who were here to aid in the preparation of the 1976/77 budget. <br /> <br /> Bids for uniforms for Law Enforcement from Fligel's Uniform Service, Hub Uniform & <br />Stinnette Uniform Sales could not be considered since none had included a bid bond. <br />Commissioner Hammett made motion to readvertise for bids for uniforms to be accepted on <br /> <br />July 8, 1976 at 1§:00 a.m.. Motion seconded by Commissioner Milloway and vote carried. <br /> Stuart Black and Joe Fries discussed the County School's budget requests. <br /> Commissioner McClary made motion to go into executive session to discuss personnel <br /> <br />replacement. Motion seconded by Commissioner Hammett and vote carried. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Milloway made motion to conclude the executive session. Commissioner <br />Hammett seconded the motion and vote carried. <br /> <br /> <br />
