Motion <br />seconded by Commissioner Milloway and vote carried. <br /> <br /> Mr. Stokes White reminded the Board that January 17 had been set up as <br />county government day to donate blood. <br /> <br /> Dr. William McIntosh presented a feasibility analysis for automated <br />information porcessing for the county and the school systems. Commissioners <br />McClary and Hammett and the County Manager are to discuss the study and make <br />a recommendation. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Hammett made motion to appoint Blair D. Bennett as <br /> <br />Finance Director and William"Bud" Richards as Civil Preparedness Coordinator. <br />Motion seconded by Commissioner McClary and vote carried. <br /> <br /> Charlene Broome gave~a brief report on COG activities. Commissioner <br />Milloway made motion that the county vote "no" on weighted voting in COG. <br />Motion seconded by Commissioner McClary and vote carried. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Milloway made motion that Commissioner Hammett be the COG <br />delegate and that Commissioners Milloway, Cook, Hawfield and McClary be the <br />respective alternates. Motion seconded by Commissioner Cook and vote carried. <br /> <br /> Rev. Richard Koeheneke asked the Board to make a decision as to <br /> <br />whether the Community Relations Commission would be continued after the <br />appropriated funds are expended. A decision is to be made at the next <br />commissioners meeting. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Walter Stroud requested that a Crescent telephone exchange be <br />installed in the sheriff's office so that citizens in the northeast corner <br />of Cabarrus County would not have to make a long distance call to request <br />aid. Commissioner Hammett made motion to approve the request and have a <br />telephone installed in the sheriff's department. Motion seconded by~ <br />Commissioner Cook and vote carried. <br /> <br /> Upon motion of Commissioner Hammett, seconded by Commissioner Milloway <br />and carried, that Joseph Benjamin Hill be appointed deputy dog warden. <br /> <br /> The Board approved the addition of a wall in the basement in the <br />janitorial supply room to make an office for Community Development. <br /> <br /> Upon motion of Commissioner Milloway, seconded by Commissioner McClary <br />.and unanimously carried, the following ordinance was adopted: <br /> <br /> Pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 153 (a) - 170 and related <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of Cabarrus County, <br /> North Carolina, that the following parking ordinance be and the same <br /> is hereby adopted: <br /> Section 1.
