The commissioners <br />cannot levy a tax; this can only be done by vote of the residents of the <br />district. <br /> <br /> The Board requested assistance under the livestock feed grain program <br /> for the farmers affected by this year's drought. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Milloway made motion that we ask the legislation to enact <br /> statewide legislation to regulate massage parlors. McEntire, Acting Division Engineer, <br /> <br /> Chairman Hawfield made motion to allow the Department of Transportation to <br /> place a mobile field office on country property on US 601 by-pass and <br /> connect to the water and sewage facilities.. Motion seconded by Commissioner <br /> Milloway and vote carried. <br /> <br /> The Hotel Concord will be offered an increase of twenty-five cents (25¢) <br /> on the noon and evening meals instead of the requested twenty-five cents (25¢) <br /> on each meal. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Milioway made motion to appoint Mrs. Richard Stanford and <br /> Dr. David Amante to the Council on the Statos of Women. Motion seconded by Commissioner <br /> Cook and vote carried. <br /> <br /> Wendy Vaughn, COG representative, asked if the county would help pay <br /> for a dispatcher at Central Medical Services to aid in the transportation <br /> of ambulance patients to Charlotte hospitals. The Board wanted to know <br /> how many emergency trips are usually made to Charlotte.
