The Recreation Commission shall be appointed by the governing <br /> body of the unit and shall consist of seven (7) members. The governing <br /> body shall appoint two (2) members for a term of one (1) year; two (2) <br /> members for a term of two (2) years and three (3) members for a term <br /> of three (3) years. Upon the expiration of their original terms of <br /> office each succeeding term shall be for three (3) years and until <br /> their successors qualify for office. Vacancies in the board or <br /> commission shall be filled for the unexpired term by appointment of <br /> the governing body of the unit. The members shall serve without <br /> compensation. <br /> <br />Motion seconded by Commissioner Milloway and vote unanimously carried. <br /> <br /> Upon motion of Commissioner Hammett, seconded by Commissioner <br /> <br />Milloway and carried, James G. Eaves, Jr. was appointed to fill the expired <br />term of Phillip G. Carroll, Samuel Freeman, Edsel Ray Plummer and Oscar <br />McDonald Williams were appointed to three year terms each on the recreation <br />commission. <br /> <br /> Commission~er McClary made motion to authorize the Chairman to sign the <br />audit contract for fiscal year 1976/77 with Sherill and Smith. Motion <br />seconded by Commissioner Hammett and vote carried. <br /> <br /> Because of regulations, it does not seem advisable to apply for funds <br />under the Economic Development Act of 1965. <br /> <br /> Upon motion of Commissioner Milloway, seconded by Commissioner Hammett <br />and unanimously carried, the following budget amendment was adopted: <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the County of <br /> Cabarrus, North Carolina that the following amendment be made to the <br /> budget ordinance for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1977: <br /> To provide for employment of a physical therapy assistant in <br /> the Home Care Program in the Health Department. <br /> <br /> General Fund <br /> <br /> Revenue <br /> Fees $5,242.00 <br /> <br /> Expenditures <br /> Home Care Program $5,242.00 <br /> <br /> Copies of this budget amendment shall be delivered to the Finance <br /> Officer and the Budget Officer for their direction in the disbursement <br /> of funds. <br /> <br /> Upon motion of Commissioner Milloway, seconded by Commissioner Cook and <br />unanimously carried, the following budget amendment was adopted: <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the County of <br /> Cabarrus, North Carolina that the following amendment be made to the <br /> budget ordinance for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1977: <br /> <br /> To provide for the extension of CETA: <br /> <br /> General Fund <br /> <br />Revenue <br /> Federal Grant <br /> <br />~Expenditures CETA <br /> <br />$286,890.00 <br /> <br />$286,890.00 <br /> <br /> <br />
