The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarru~ met in regular <br />sessio~n at the Courthouse in Concord, North Carolina on Thursday, April ,7, <br /> <br />1977 at 9:30 A.M. <br /> Present - <br /> <br />Chairman: S. Glenn H~field, Jr. <br /> <br />Commissioners: Robert A. McClary <br /> John A. Hammett <br /> Marcelle Milloway <br /> Troy R. Cook <br /> <br /> The invocation was by the Reverend Leonard Bolick of Calvary Lutheran <br />Church. <br /> <br /> The minutes of the March meeting were corrected to read five bus~s <br /> <br />to be leased to a private company and the two vans to be ned by the <br />Department of So~ Services. Commissioner McClary mode motion to approve <br />the corrected minutes. Motion seconded by Commissione~ Cook and vote carried. <br /> <br /> Estu~ B. White, Clerk of Court, administered the Oath of Office to the <br />Board of Equalization and Review members. The Board authorized Terry Rowland, <br />Tax Supervisor to ~tab~h the dates for hearings an~ adjourned. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Cook submitted Mrs. Ann Hill as a p~,ssible fire commissioner <br />for the Harrisburg F~e Depa~ment. Commissioner Ham,,ett made motion to <br />appoint the persons recommended by the Board of Directors omitting Winecoff <br />Fire Depa~tme~. Motion seconded by Commissioner M~Clary and vote carried <br />with Commissioner Mi~loway voting no. Little Frank Sifford <br /> Tom Kis er Sam Wis e <br /> Luther Ald~idge Richard Manu~ <br /> <br /> Commissioner Milloway made motion that we again ask our legislatures <br /> <br /> to i~duce a local bill requesting the fire commiss~ners to be ~ected <br /> by the fire dist~iet residents and if they deny it, to please give ~ a <br /> chance to discuss it. The Board want~ to h~p the firemen and not cause <br /> them hardship. The fire commissioners could be selected at an open meeting <br /> of the fire department. The County Attorney and the Emergency Services <br /> Director to investigate and report methods by which the fire commissioners <br /> could be s elected. '~ <br /> <br /> <br />
