58 <br /> <br /> Attorney John Boger reported that he had received one <br /> <br />quote of $7,190.00 for professional liability insurance to <br />cover the commissioners, but had not received"quotes from <br />other companies. The matter is to be further researched. <br /> <br /> Walter Chestnut, operator of the Snack Bar, requested <br /> <br />that all other snack areas in the Courthouse be eliminated <br />and that possibly a better location on the first floor be <br />obtained. The County Manager is to make a recommendation at <br />the next meeting. <br /> <br /> Several petitions requesting that health clubs be <br /> <br />regulated have been received. Sheriff Roberts recommended <br />that an ordinance regulating these businesses be adopted. <br />Three operators of these businesses were not in favor of such <br />an ordinance, while a number of citizens present were in favor <br />of an ordinance. Attorney Boger was asked to prepare an ordi- <br />nance to present at the next meeting. <br /> <br /> Upon motion of Con~nissiOner Milloway, seconded by Commissioner <br /> <br />Cook and carried, George Pope, Jr. was appointed deputy dog <br /> <br />warden. <br /> <br /> Upon motion of Commissioner McClary, seconded by Commission- <br /> <br />er Cook and unanimously carried, James L. Pharr was appointed <br />Assistant Civil Preparedness Coordinator for Cabarrus County and <br />assigned the duties of Operations and Training Officer. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Hammett made motion to appoint Wayne Anderson, <br /> <br />Cecil Perry and Alton H. Thigpen as Fire Commissioners for the <br />Enochville Fire Department. Motion seconded by Commissioner <br />Cook and vote carried. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Cook made motion to approve the subgrant award <br />contract for camera equipment for a total project cost of $2,222.00. <br />Motion seconded by Commissioner McClary and vote carried. <br /> <br /> Upon motion of Commissioner Hammett, seconded by Commissioner <br />Milloway and carried, the annual certification of firemen with <br />the list of active firemen for the Poplar Tent and Midland Volun- <br />teer Fire Departments was approved. <br /> <br /> The Board of Commissioners was advised that a proposed <br /> <br />contract, between the County of CabarruS and North Carolina Depart- <br /> <br />ment of Natural and Economic Resources for the provision of <br /> <br /> <br />
