59 <br /> <br />of planning services was presented and discussed; that, under <br />the terms of the said contract, the County of Cabarrus will <br />pay a total of $5,295.00 as its local share of the planning <br />costs. <br /> <br />Commissioner Cook introduced the following resolution, which <br /> <br />was read: <br /> <br /> "BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE Board of Commissioners <br /> of the County of Cabarrus: <br /> <br /> 1) That the contract between the County of <br /> Cabarrus and the North Carolina Department <br /> of Natural and Economic Resources be and the <br /> same is hereby approved. <br /> <br /> 2) That the Chairman and the Clerk be and <br /> they are hereby authorized to sign and exe- <br /> cute the said contract for and on behalf of <br /> the County of Cabarrus and forward the same <br /> to the North Carolina Department of Natural <br /> and Economic Resources. <br /> <br /> 3) That upon final execution a copy of the <br /> said contract be filed with the minutes." <br /> <br /> Upon motion of Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commissioner <br /> Milloway, said resolution was unanimously passed. <br /> <br /> Upon the recommendation of the Community Development <br /> Screening Committee, Commissioner Cook made motion to approve <br /> change orders for RG-4 amounting to $595.00 and RG-2 amounting <br /> to $915.00. Motion seconded by Commissioner Hammett and vote <br /> carried. <br /> <br /> The one bid received for communications equipment - radio <br /> tower bid was by Motorola, Inc. in the amount of $41,400.00. <br /> This quote exceeded the estimate. The County Attorney and <br /> County Manager are to contact COG to see if they will partici- <br /> pate in the full amount and report at the next meeting. <br /> <br /> Upon motion of Commissioner Hammett, seconded by Commissioner <br /> McClary and carried, the following road petitions were approved: <br /> Request for addition - Montana Circle, Burlwood Road and Planta- <br /> tion Place. <br /> <br /> Williams Office Supply was unable to obtain a performance <br /> bond on the bid for four fire proof filing cabinets. Architect <br /> Griffin recommended that the performance bond requirement be <br /> waived. Commissioner McClary made motion to waive the performance <br /> bond requirement for Williams Office Supply. Motion seconded by <br /> Commissioner Hammett and vote carried. <br /> <br /> <br />
