Grant, Sec.-Treas. Summary <br />Cabarrus Soil and Water <br />Conservation District <br /> <br /> Cabarrus County has been allocated $772,143 for Title VI for fiscal year <br />1978 in CETA funds. After the county positions are budgeted, approximately <br />$80,729 is left. State agency jobs will cost $256,143 for fiscal year 1978. <br />This will create a deficit of $175,414 if all state positions are funded. The <br />State CETA Office was contacted and a meeting set up for Tuesday, August 9, <br />1977 to discuss what action to take. <br /> <br /> Bachman Brown, Chairman Board of Elections, reported that different automated <br />voting systems had been studied and they would like to recommend that the County <br />purchase the Computer Election Systems. Commissioner Hammett made motion to <br />advertise for bids or take whatever action is legally necessary to purchase <br />automated voting machines to conduct the Concord City election. Motion seconded <br />by Commissioner Cook and vote carried. <br /> <br /> County Manager Charles McGinnis reported that the personnel ordinance had <br />been given to the department heads and they were asked to make comments on any- <br />thing that they felt needed changing. Health Department employee, Steve Martin, <br />accompanied by Sylvia Smith, David Nash and Tom Johnson, read the following <br />letter that was signed by 89 employees in the Health and Social Services <br /> <br />Departments.
