Commissioner Milloway <br />seconded the motion and vote carried. <br /> <br /> Mr. Morton Lerner requested that his late tax listing penalty be <br /> <br />removed because of slow postal service. Motion was made by Commissioner <br />McClary not to allow request to remove late tax listing penalty. Motion <br />was seconded by Commissioner Milloway and vote carried. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Commissioner Hammett to award bid for purchase of <br />electronic voting equipment to Computer Election Systems in the amount <br />of $37,830.00. Commissioner Cook seconded motion and vote carried. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Hammett made motion to award bid for renovation of court- <br />house basement to Kannapolis Construction Company in the amount of $31,900. <br />Motion was seconded by Commissioner Cook and vote carried. <br /> <br /> Mr. John Boger, County Attorney, presented a county courthouse parking <br /> lot ordinance. Action was deferred on this ordinance until a later date. <br /> <br /> Formation of a Cabarrus County Housing Committee~was suggested. <br /> <br /> Action was deferred until the next meeting. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Commissioner Cook to accept Community Development <br /> contract change orders. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Hammett and <br /> vote carried. <br /> <br /> Commissioner McClary made motion to decline signing the reimbursement <br /> contract for confinement of misdemeanants. Motion was seconded by <br /> Commissioner Milloway and vote carried. <br /> <br /> Due to no motion being made, no action was taken on reconsideration <br /> <br /> of house bill #658. <br /> <br /> Commissioner McClary made motion to accept the proposal of Mr. Steve <br /> Harkey, Data Processing Manager, as to the lease acquisition of the Honey- <br /> well equipment so that he can proceed to develop and get underway with the <br /> data processing operation. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Hammett <br /> and vote carried. <br /> <br /> Due to no motion being made, no action was taken on a Community Based <br /> Status Offenders' Program that was presented by Mr. Peter Bishop. <br /> <br /> Mr. C. M. Brown requested the Board allow him to use 70 building <br /> permits issued to him in 1971. Commissioner McClary made motion to reimburse <br /> Mr. C. M. Brown $350 for the permits purchased in 1971 with the understanding <br /> <br /> <br />
