Baucom and wife located on Westwood Drive, <br /> Cabarrus County, North Carolina. <br />(c) That each petition was signed by all property owners within the area <br /> <br />requested to be annexed. <br /> (d) That each petition requests that ali necessary action required by <br />Article 12 of Chapter 130 of the General Statutes of North Carolina for the extension <br />of the boundaries of the Kannapolis Sanitary District be taken so as to annex the <br />territory described in the petition unto the Kannapolis Sanitary District. <br /> (3) That is is for the best interest of the Kannapolis Sanitary District <br />and the various territories requested to be annexed unto the Kannapolis Sanitary <br />District that said territories be included within the boundaries of the Kannapolis <br />Sanitary District and receive the services of the Sanitary District. <br /> Section 2. That the Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus does <br />hereby approve the annexation of each of the territories described in the petitions <br />unto the Kannapolis Sanitary District and does hereby recommend to the North Carolina <br />Commission for Health Services that it approve the annexation of the territo~esunto <br />the Kannapolis Sanitary District. <br /> Section 3. That the Clerk of the Board of Commissioners for the County of <br />Cabarrus is hereby directed to certify a copy of this resolution to the Director, <br />Division of Health Services, Department of Human Resources, State of North Carolina. <br /> Thereupon, upon motion of Commissioner Hammett, seconded by Commissioner McClary, <br />the foregoing resolution entitled: "RESOLUTION RELATING TO THE ANNEXATION OF <br />TERRITORIES TO KANNAPOLIS SANITARY DISTRICT" was passed by the following vote: <br />Ayes: Chairman Hawfield, Commissioners McClary, Hammett, Milloway and Cook <br />Noes: None. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner McClary, seconded by Commissioner Cook and <br />unanimously carried, the following budget amendment was approved: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of the County of Cabarrus, North <br />Carolina that the following amendment be made to the budget ordinance for the fiscal <br />year ending June 30, 1978: <br /> <br /> To provide for the mass transit study <br /> <br /> CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND <br /> Revenue <br /> 61-348-01 State Government Grant $2,830.00 <br /> Expenditures <br /> 61-660-94 Mass Transit Study $2,830.00 <br /> <br /> Copies of this budget amendment shall be delivered to the Finance Officer and the <br /> Budget Officer for their direction in the disbursement of funds. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Milloway, seconded by Commissioner Cook and <br /> carried, the following road petition was approved: Request for addition - White <br /> Pine Drive. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commissioner McClary and <br /> unanimously carried, the following Affirmative Action Plan was adopted: <br /> AFFIRMATIVE ACTION PLAN <br /> <br /> FOR <br /> <br /> CABARRUS COUNTY CETA <br /> <br /> Section 1. Statement of Policy <br /> Cabarrus County CETA recognized the importance of eliminating employment <br /> barriers by establishing a non-discriminatory policy for its employees and applicants <br /> for employment. Therefore, it shall now be our policy not to discriminate against <br /> any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, religion, natiOnal <br /> orgin, sex or age. <br /> We will consider applicants who are ex-offenders, based on the nature of their <br /> conviction, the date of occurance, the relationship of the offense to the job in <br /> question and the applicant's job qualifications. <br /> Finally, it shall be our policy to comply with the Vocational Rehabilitation <br /> Act of 1973, Section 503 and 504, which requires that contractors, who contract with <br /> the government for goods or services of twenty-five hundred dollars ($2,500) or more <br /> formulate Affirmative Action programs for handicapped persons and consider them <br /> for positions for which they are qualified. <br /> This policy is a part of our personnel rules. <br /> <br /> <br />
