85 <br /> <br /> A letter from Glenn C. Woodward, Jr., Regional Director with HUD, stated <br />that the firm of Moore, Gardner and Associates, Inc. had been contracted to <br />conduct a Flood Insurance Study for Cabarrus County. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner McClary, Chairman Hawfield was authorized to <br />enter into a contract with Honeywell for lease o.f computer equipment described <br />at the September 8, 1977 meeting as set out in Honeywell's proposal. Motion <br />seconded by Commissioner Cook and vote carried. <br /> <br /> The Board briefly discussed peddlers and their effect on established <br />businesses. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Hawfield, a public hearing on a Housing Authority <br />for Cabarrus County was set for November 10, 1977 at 10:00 a.m. in the <br />Commissioner's Room in the Courthouse in accordance with North Carolina General <br />Statutes. Motion seconded by Commissioner McClary and vote carried. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Hammett reported that the County Planning Committee had met <br />and hoped to have a meaningful conference with key community leaders in <br />attendance with the possiblity of discussing inter-basin water transfers. <br /> <br /> The Commissioners discussed a proposed agreement between the County for <br />receipt of funds from the State of North Carolina through the North Carolina <br />Criminal Justice Training and Standards Council for the purpose of supplementing <br />the salaries of certain law enforcement personnel of the County. Under the <br />terms of the contract, the County will have to keep records and make reports <br />to the Council and disperse the funds received according to law. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Milloway introduced the following resolution, which was read: <br /> "BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Commissioners of the County of Cabarrus: <br /> 1. That the contract between the County of Cabarrus and the North Carolina <br /> Criminal Justice Training and Standards Council be and the same is <br /> hereby approved. <br /> 2. That the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners and the Clerk be and <br /> they are hereby authorized to sign and execute the said contract for <br /> and on behalf of the County of Cabarrus and forward the same to the <br /> North Carolina Criminal Justice Training and Standards Council. <br /> 3. That upon final execution a copy of said contract will be filed with <br /> the minutes." <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Milloway, seconded by Commissioner Cook, said <br /> Resolution was passed, with Commissioner McClary abstaining. <br /> <br /> Having no further business, meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />Ci~he Boar <br /> <br /> <br />
