98 <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commissioner <br />Hammett and carried, the following road petition was approved: <br />request for addition - Hilliard Lane. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commissioner <br />McClary and carried, the housing committee and the Community <br />Development Department was designated as the Administering <br />Department under the Housing Authority. <br /> <br /> Architect G. A. Griffin was asked to submit only preliminary <br />plans on a time and material cost plan to be deducted from contract <br />price if construction of Building B is accomplished. <br /> <br /> Attorney John Boger reported that the North Carolina General <br />Status states that in the event of the death of an employee the <br />amount contributed to the retirement fund by the County for that <br />employee goes back into the general fund of the County. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Milloway, seconded by Commissioner <br />Cook and unanimously carried, the following people were appointed <br />to the Council on the Status of Women: Dr. John Benbow, Martha <br />Macon and Ann Brown. <br /> <br /> The Board gave its approval for Commissioner Milloway to <br /> attend the Governor's Council on Economic Growth. <br /> <br /> Attorney Boger reported that he was still trying to find <br /> <br /> an insurance company who would provide commissioners liability <br /> insurance at a reasonable rate. <br /> <br /> Possible means of creating a better working relationship <br /> <br /> with the cities in the County were discussed. <br /> <br /> Having no further business, meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />CLERK TO THE BOARD <br /> <br /> <br />
