However, the latest population estimate for <br /> Cabarrus was 82,'800 while the 1977 figures obtained from the <br /> North Carolina Employment Security Commission indicate that the <br /> total labor force has increased to 38,141 with the absolute <br /> employment figure declining to 36,271 and the unemployment figure <br /> increasing to 1,870. This trend indicated that although the <br /> County's labor force is expanding, the employment opportunities <br /> for the population are decreasing as revealed by the decreasing <br /> employment figure and increasing unemployment figure.
