While working with the requesting agency, <br />a Cabarrus County Deputy ~shall have the same <br />jurisdiction, powers, rights, privileges and immu- <br />nities as the officers of the. requesting agency. <br /> 4~. The Sheriff~is hereby further authorized ~ <br />to request mutual aid assistance from other law <br />enforcement agencies in accordance with such reasonable <br />arrangements, terms and conditions as may be agreed <br />upon between the respective heads of the law enforce- <br />ment agencies. <br /> <br /> The County Manager, County Attorney, and Sheriff were <br />authorized tO work with surrounding counties in setting up <br />contracts for mutual aid assistance. <br /> <br /> Action was deferred until a later date on the appoint- <br />ment to the Social Services Board. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hammett, seconded by Commis- <br />sioner Milloway and carried unanimously, the County Manager <br />was authorized to communicate with the City Manager of <br /> <br />Concord to find out'whether or not the city would be interest- <br /> <br />Ed in participating in cable television. <br /> <br />The folloWing bids were received for flame retardant <br /> <br />jail mattresses: <br /> <br />COMPANY <br /> <br />Steiffel Mattress Co. <br />Supreme Sales Co. <br />Taylor Mattress Co. <br />Walter F. INCLUDED <br /> <br /> BID- <br />B I D BOND <br /> <br />$ 2,777.74 X <br />$ 3,162.45' X <br />$ 2,262.00 X <br />$ 2,588.00* X <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner McClary, seconded by Commis- <br />sioner Cook and carried unanimously, the bid for 87 flame <br />retardant jail mattresses was awarded to Taylor Mattress Com- <br />pany in the amount of $2,262.00. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commissioner <br />McClary and unanimously carried, the massage parlor ordinance was <br />amended to specify the renewal fee for massage parlor privilege <br />licenses is $25.00, and renewal fee for massagists is $10.00. <br /> <br /> A resolution requesting $2,119.00 federal funds and $118.00 <br />local cash match for training and education for the Sheriff's <br />Department was read by Mr. John Boger. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Cook~ seconded by Commissioner <br />McClary and carried unanimously, the request for training and <br />education funds was approved. <br /> <br /> <br />
