180 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR THE COUNTY OF CABARRUS TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL <br />SCHOOL FACILITIES IN THE KANNAPOLIS CITY ADMINIS- <br />TRATIVE UNIT. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED by The Kannapolis City Board of Education: <br /> <br /> Section 1. The Kannapolis City Board of Education has <br />determined and found as a fact that adequate school facilities <br />are not now available in the Kannapolis City Administrative <br />Unit to comply with the requirements of Section 2 of Article <br />IX of the Constitution of North Carolina for the maintenance <br />of schools nine months in every year and that is is necessary, <br />in order to maintain such nine months' school term as required <br />by said Section 2 of Article IX of the Constitution, to <br />provide additional school facilities in said Unit by erecting <br />additional school buildings and other school plant facilities, <br />remodeling,, enlarging and reconstructing existing school <br />buildings and other school plant facilities, and acquiring <br />any necessary land and equipment therefor, the estimated <br />cost of which is $2,500,000. <br /> <br /> Section 2. The Board of Commissioners for the County <br />of Cabarrus is requested to take all necessary steps, by the <br />issuance of bonds or otherwise, in order that funds may be <br />provided for such school facilities. <br /> <br /> Section 3. A copy of this resolution shall immediately <br />be certified to the Board of Commissioners for said County. <br /> <br /> Upon motion duly made and seconded, the foregoing <br />resolution was passed by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: <br /> <br />Homer B. Friday, Henry H. Duncan, Joe L. Mingo, <br />James N.
