201 <br /> <br /> Mr. Charles D. McGinnis, County Manager, stated that on <br />August 21, 1978, Mr. Mike Hunsuck, CETA Program Director for <br />Cabarrus County, had received a Mailgram from the Division of <br />Community Employment ordering a freeze on hiring of CETA employees <br />effective August 21, 1978. Furthermore, Mr. Hunsuck had received <br />a telephone call August 22, 1978 informing him of a meeting at <br />which time the County must present a budget for the federal <br />fiscal year 1979 and a priority assignment list of CETA positions. <br />The Board eliminated the following CETA positions: <br /> <br /> DEPARTMENT POSITIONS ELIMINATED <br /> <br />Cabarrus County Courthouse <br />Cabarrus County Health Dept. <br />Cabarrus County Senior Services <br />Cabarrus County Schools <br />Kannapolis City Schools <br />Concord City Schools <br />Employment Security Comm. <br />Life Center <br />Piedmont Area Mental Health <br /> Center <br />Logan Day Care Center <br />National Guard <br />Navy Recruiter <br /> <br />The Board authorized the County Manager, Charles D. McGinnis, <br />to prepare a priority assignment list of CETA positions for <br />submission to North Carolina Department of Human Resources, <br />Division of Community Employment, Raleigh, North Carolina. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commissioner <br />McClary and unanimously carried, Mr. Mike Hunsuck was designated <br />Signatory Official for the CETA contract on behalf of Cabarrus <br />County. The Acting Clerk of the Board of County Commissioners <br />was authorized to complete the necessary document authorizing <br />Mr. Hunsuck as Signatory Official. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hammett, seconded by Com- <br />missioner Cook and unanimously carried, the Board authorized <br />a transfer of $264.17 from the Commissioners' Contingency <br />Fund to pay the balance of invoice number 0995, P~irson and <br />Whitman, Inc., for services rendered from June 15, 1978 <br />through July 12, 1978. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Hammett; Mr. John Boger, County Attorney; <br /> <br />Mr. Charles D.
