203 <br /> <br /> The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus <br />met in regular session at the Courthouse in Concord, North <br />Carolina on Thursday, September 7, i978 at 9:30 A. M. <br /> <br /> Present - Chairman: S. Glenn Hawfield, Jr. <br /> <br /> Commissioners: Robert A. McClary <br /> John A. Hammett <br /> Marcelle Milloway <br /> Troy R. Cook <br /> <br /> Invocation was given by Reverend Bill Osborne of the <br />Epworth United Methodist Church. <br /> <br /> The minutes of August 10, 1978, were corrected to <br /> <br /> read: "written contracts" in paragraph six on page 183. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Cook, seconded by Com- <br /> missioner McClary and unanimously carried, the corrected <br /> minutes of August 10, 1978, and the minutes of August 22, <br /> 1978, were approved. <br /> <br /> Representatives from Vision Cable Communications, Inc., <br /> were present to discuss the proposed franchise which they <br /> had submitted to Mr. John Boger, County Attorney. After <br /> much discussion, the Commissioners elected to postpone <br /> further consideration of the proposed cablevision fran- <br /> chise until an adjourned meeting. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Milloway, seconded by <br /> Commissioner Cook and unanimously carried, Chairman <br /> Hawfield was authorized to sign the following contracts: <br /> NORTH CAROLINA <br /> CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> <br /> THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this 21st day <br /> <br /> of August, 1978, by and between CABARRUS COUNTY, a govern- <br /> mental subdivision of the State of North Carolina, party <br /> of the first part, and CABARRUS BOYS' CLUB, INC., party of <br /> the second part; <br /> <br /> W I T N E S S E T H : <br /> <br /> That whereas, Cabarrus Boys' Club, Inc., is a non- <br /> profit corporation which provides recreational services for <br /> the youth of Cabarrus County; and whereas, Cabarrus County <br /> has appropriated the sum of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000) <br /> for use by the Cabarrus Boys' Club, Inc., to provide these <br /> <br /> <br />
