213 <br /> <br />Manager, stated that a North Carolina General Statute <br />prohibited the Commissioners from making a resolution <br />to change a road's name, if the chang'e would constitute <br />a duplicate name, as there is a Linker Road in the <br />Winecoff area of Cabarrus County. After some discussion, <br />Mr. & Mrs. Foster stated that they would be satisfied <br />with the name Linker Hill Road; and Commissioner Hammett <br />requested that Mr. McGinnis submit another request <br />changing the road name from Linker Road to Linker Hill <br />Road to Mr. Jack Alston, County Planner. Action was <br />deferred until the October 5, 1978, Board meeting. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hammett, seconded by <br />Commissioner McClary and unanimously carried, Mr. John <br />Boger, County Attorney, was authorized to draw up an <br />agreement between the City of Concord and Cabarrus County <br />regarding C. A. Cannon Memorial Library funding. To be <br />included in the contract is a provision that Cabarrus <br />County be furnished a copy of the City of Concord~s <br />Annual Audit. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Cook, seconded by Com- <br /> missioner Hammett and unanimously carried, the Board <br /> authorized the transfer of $5,760 from the Commission- <br /> ers' Contingency Fund to special appropriations to be <br /> used for proposed 1978-79 operating expenses of the <br /> Library. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hammett, seconded by <br /> Commissioner Cook and unanimously carried, William <br /> Evander Pressley was appointed Dog Warden for Cabarrus <br /> County. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hammett, seconded by <br /> Commissioner Cook and unanimously carried, the paving <br /> of the entrance of the Midland Voluntary Fire Depart- <br /> ment was approved. <br /> <br /> In his report to the Board on a single metering <br /> point for the County Office Building utility metering <br /> on Cabarrus Avenue, the County Manager declined to <br /> recommend installation of this system; therefore, the <br /> <br /> <br />
