259 <br /> <br />Governments as the Economic Development District for <br /> <br />RegiOn F. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commis- <br />sioner McClary and unanimously carried, the following <br />road petitions were approved to add these roads to the <br />State Highway Maintenance System - Gaylan Court, Rockland <br />Subdivision; Wren Street, Independence Square. The follow- <br />ing petitions for secondary road status were forwarded to <br />the State Department of Transportation - Softwind Lane, <br />Mary Circle, and Tradewind Lane. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commis- <br />sioner Milloway and unanimously carried, the Board set <br />11:00 a.m., November 9, 1978, for the renaming of Linker <br />Road to Ray Linker Road. The County Manager was requested <br />to inform the Planning Department of this date and time. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Milloway, seconded by <br />Commissioner McClary and unanimously carried, the Board <br />adopted a resolution transferring $9,500.00 from the <br />Commissioners' Contingency Fund to special appropriations <br />so that checks can be sent to the Cabarrus Vocational <br />Workshop and to the Cabarrus County Boys' Club as previous- <br />ly agreed. <br /> <br /> Chairman Hawfield reported on an investigation by <br />himself, Commissioner Hammett, and Commissioner Cook of the <br />request by the State Departments of Probation and Family <br />Counseling for additional office space, It was the <br />Committee's recommendation that no change be made at this <br />time, since one Probation position will be eliminated in <br />the near future; thus, eliminating the need for additional <br />space. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commis- <br /> sioner McClary and unanimously carried, the Board moved <br /> to adjourn the meeting until October 16, 1978, at 4:00 P.M. <br /> <br />CLERK TO THE BOARD <br /> <br /> <br />
