Department of Commerce, Utilities Commission - Utilities <br /> <br /> Mr. Eugene Cook, Chairman of the Cabarrus County <br /> <br />Airport Authority, was present to discuss correspondence <br />which he had received from Mr.. Howard M. Robinson, Chief, <br />North Carolina Section of the Federal Aviation Administration. <br />It was pointed out that the earliest date for Federal <br />approval of the proposed airport would be April 5, 197~, <br />and that this would necessitate the County's renewal of <br />their option on the proposed sight. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commis- <br />sioner McClary and unanimously carried, the Board moved <br />to adopt a resolution proclaiming the week beginning <br />October 8, 1978, as Fire Prevention Week. <br /> <br /> Chairman Hawfield requested that Mr~ Charles D. <br />McGinnis, County Manager, to ascertain if Miss Minnie <br />Walker would be interested in being reappointed to <br />represent Cabarrus County on the Regional Aging Advisory <br />Committee of Centralina Council of Governments. Com- <br />missioner Milloway requested that Mr. McGinnis obtain <br />names of members on the Centralina Council of Governments <br />Boards and Committees. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Cook, seconded by Com- <br /> missioner McClary and unanimously carried, the Board moved <br /> to designate the Cabarrus County Department of Social <br /> Services as local focal point on aging for Cabarrus County <br /> to the Centralina Council of Governments. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Milloway, seconded by <br /> Commissioner Cook and unanimously carried, the Board adopted <br /> by resolution the designation of Centralina Council of <br /> <br /> <br />
