362 <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Milloway, seconded by Commissioner Lentz and <br />unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Ms. Blanche Howie and Mr. Bobby <br />Overcash to the Regional Employment and Training Advisory Committee of the <br />Centralina Council of Governments and deferred appointment of the third <br />member until the next regular meeting of the Board on January 14, 1980. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Bonds and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved by resolution to amend the Parking <br />Lot Ordinance to provide for the following reserved parking spaces in the <br />Cabarrus County Courthouse parking lot. <br /> <br />Parking spaces are reserved as follows: <br /> <br />Parking Space Number <br /> <br />Reserved For <br /> <br />1 thru 20 <br /> 21 <br /> 22 <br />23 and 24 <br /> 25 <br /> 26 <br /> 27 <br /> 28 <br /> 29 <br /> 30 <br /> 31 <br /> 32 <br /> 33 <br /> 34 <br /> 35 <br /> 36 <br /> 37 <br /> 38 <br /> 39 <br /> 40 <br /> 41 <br /> 42 <br /> 43 <br /> 44 <br /> 45 <br /> <br />Law Enforcement <br />Finance Director <br />County Commissioner <br />County Vehicle <br />Maintenance Supervisor <br />Data Processing Supervisor <br />Building Inspector <br />Planning Director <br />Family Counselor <br />Probation Officer <br />Magistrate <br />County Vehicle - Van - Planning Dept. <br />County Vehicle - Maintenance Truck <br />Chief Deputy <br />Chief Deputy <br />Sheriff <br />Manager <br />Resident Superior Court Judge <br />Register of Deeds <br />Tax Collector <br />Tax Supervisor <br />Clerk of Court <br />District Attorney <br />Judge <br />Judge <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Bonds and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved a budget amendment for the Cabarrus <br />County Health Department for special funding of $832 from the State of North <br />Carolina to provide influenza vaccine to high risk patients at locations <br />outside the Health Department. <br /> Mr. McGinnis reported to the Board that the Cabarrus County Ambulance <br />Service will be located in the basement of the County Agricultural Building <br />until the construction of the new facilities. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Milloway and <br />unanimously carried, the Board awarded the site clearance bid contract for the <br />disposal of the existing Cabarrus Ambulance Service building to hhe sole bidder, <br />Salisbury House Movers, in the amount of $560.00. <br /> Mr. George Griffin, County Architect, reported on the construction costs <br />of the new Ambulance Service facility. He stated that the Department of <br />Insurance would not approve construction of the building until provisions were <br />made to bring the facility into compliance with the handicapped code as required <br />by the State of North Carolina. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Bonds and <br />unanimously carried, the Board moved to write a letter to the North Carolina <br />Department of Insurance signed by each Board member requesting reconsideration <br />on the handicapped code as it applies to the ambulance facility and to delay <br />action on the awarding of the construction bids until the Board receives a <br />response from the Department of Insurance to learn what changes will have to <br />be made on the construction plans. <br /> Mr. Griffin also reported to the Board that he and Mr. Aubrey Cheek, Dean <br />of Continuing Education at Rowan Tech, had inspected the old Agricultural Extension <br />Building on Church Street and were favorably impCessed with their findings. Mr. <br />Griffin and Mr. Cheek are to attend the regular meeting in January to discuss <br />the possibility of renovating this building for classroom space for Rowan Technical <br />Institute. <br /> <br /> <br />
