Harris, R.L.S. and recorded in Plat Book at Page in the Cabarrus County Public Registry with the survey line being described as follows: Beginning at a point in the centerline of Union Cemetery Road (State Road # 1375) where said centerline is intersected by an imaginary line which is parallel to and 8 feet northwesterly from the existing northerly margin of a Duke Power Company transmission line right-of-way, said point of beginning also being located in an easterly boundary line of the property of Philip Morris Incorporated as shown on a map thereof recorded in Plat Book 18 at Page 36 in the Cabarrus County Public Registry, reference to which is hereby made, said beginning point also being located according to Philip Morris Plant Grid System at grid coordinates N = 601,441.38 and E = 1,520,729.22 and runs thence N. 51-54-35 E. 30.28 feet to a point in the northeasterly right-of-way margin of Union Cemetery Road; thence continuing N. 51-54-35 E. 639.08 feet to a point in the westerly right-of-way margin of U. S. Highway 601 Bypass at a point known as North Carolina proposed Station 30+30.5 in State Project Number 8.16193; thence N. 51-54-35 E. 103.88 feet to a point in the planned centerline of U.S. Highway 601 Bypass (N.C. State Station 30+66.58); thence following a transitional curve to the right having a radius of 1,909.86 feet, an arc distance of 351.08 feet and having a chord bearing of N. 16-42-41 W. and a chord distance of 350.847 feet along the planned centerline of U.S. Highway 601 Bypass to a point at N.C. Mrs. Betsy Carpenter, Animal Cruelty Investigator, was present to express her concern regarding the disposition of dogs by the Cabarrus County Animal Shelter for possible experimental purposes. Chairman Cook stated that this was the day and hour scheduled for a public hearing for the renaming of f'ive roads in the county and asked if anyone were present who wished to speak for or against these road name changes. Residents of Woodgreen Drive expressed concern to the Board regarding the procedure involved in road name change determinations for the county. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Bonds and unanimously carried, the Board approved the following road name changes. OLD NAME Booker Avenue Unnamed Road Unnamed Road Unnamed Road Woodgreen Drive NEW NAME Onyx Avenue Asbury Road Biltmore Drive Shalimar Lane Fringewood Drive UPON MOTION of Commissioner Allen, seconded by Commissioner Bonds and unanimously carried, the Board approved the following addition to the State Secondary Road System - Elkwood Court. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Milloway, seconded by Commissioner Allen with Chairman Cook and Commissioners Bonds, Milloway, and Allen voting for and Commissioner Lentz voting against, the Board approved the following budget amendment to the Social Services Medicaid Assistance Program.
